Nautilus : We Nauti Indians

Nautilus

The Tactical High Energy Laser (THEL), referred to in the Israeli press, as the "Nautilus," successfully shot down a rocket for the first time Thursday during a test at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.

Why is Israeli, already the first nation with a domestic defense--Arrow 2--against ballistic missiles, rather than the United States destined to become the first nation to deploy a laser missile defense system?

Israeli hopes to deploy the Nautilus, early next year to protect its population centers against short-range rocket attacks. The United States currently has no weapon systems capable of protecting soldiers or military assets involved in regional conflicts against short-range rocket, artillery, or mortar attacks. In fact, he U.S. Army doesn’t' plan to field its directed-energy weapon system--the Enhanced Area Air Defense (EAAD)--for at least another decade.

"The THEL is a joint U.S.-Israel weapons development program,"

India :

India also need such defense system and the proposal was pending for a long time. Actually use of missile system is effective only if you have ability to trace motive of enemy, location of their missile triggers and ability to pre counter attack.(Do not think it offensive)

Pre counter attack means ability to destroy enemy's missile triggers before they get fired and if fired then destroy them in between route.

USA, Russia, China and now Israel have this capability but India have no motive to implement such system though there is a deep need because we are being surrounded by hundreds of missiles and every inch of India is under missile threat.

Hope Indian government will understand this need and bureaucracy will take immediate decision and action.
