Terror strike at Lahore police centre: 25 dead, 200 injured

Lahore, March 30 At least 20 police trainees were killed and about 200 injured when a group of 15 - 20 militants attacked a police training academy here Monday and took dozens of men hostage, media reports said.

The incident took place between 7 and 8 a.m. as trainees were participating in their morning parade.

The police remain locked in gun-battles with the attackers who remain hidden inside various buildings within the police complex.

Interior advisor Rehman Malik said security put on high alert across the country and more contingents of Rangers have been sent to Manawan.In an exclusive chat with Geo News, Malik said jihadi outfits and foreign element could involve in the attack. Today’s incident is part of terror wave exists in the country which begun from NWFP. This is an attack against country’s sovereignty.
